Hey guys thinking of getting out of my 180 that i have had for around 7 years into something newer. I have been looking at evo 8's which are newer around 03 model ect then i found out about the new ralliart lancers. Has any one driven one i know there would less performance than a evo just wondering if it was any good say incomparison to a wrx and the like
cheers

Ralliart Lancers are comparitive to the WRX but Ralliart Lancers are nothing like an Evo - they don't share many parts with an Evo X and if you decided to modify one, you'd really be better of with the X in the first place. It really depends what you want to get out of it and what you budget is, but with the Evo 8, you'll definitely get much more bang for your buck.

Ralliart ftw bud

A best mate of mine has one and bought one instead of the evo x because there $30k cheaper, the evo x has recaros different body kit, bigger brakes etc and the power difference is, Ralliart - 177kw, 343Nm and the Evo X - 217kw, 363Nm ... His a evo boy through and through but just couldn't justify that extra 30K for a few small things and a little bit more power with extra's.

My opinion from being in one day in and out its a cheaper and better option, My mate's put a ralliart muffler on it and is looking at a tune for it which should give him a fair go at the evo x if not leave them for dead.

His lined up numerous evo 7,8,9's and mawled them off the line and annihilated them off a rolling start ( thankyou SST-T gearbox and mivec ) and given them something to scratch there head about, his yet to line up a evo x as there ain't many kicking around lol

I reckon the ralliart looks better to but it all comes down to what you want to pay and what you feel comfortable in, an evo 8 MR would be nice aswell

im in the same postion
im after a new car with duel clutch turbo and AWD capibilitys. for something a bit over 40K its a bit of a steal
main reason im looking at getting one is because the Evo dont come in a sports back, and im realy keen on the extra space. and they dont make the WRX STI wagon anymore so im realy thinking of getting one.
if they made a sports back Evo id get it in a heart beat. but yeh saveing 30K that can go on other mods now ya talking

Buy what you want ffs. No one that's chimed in has owned either.

Here's the beat idea, go test drive one. IT'S FREE YOU KNOW.
If your serious they let you take it over night/week.
I'm sure in this dip of the economy you could talk them into a month loan lol.

The main reason I like the ralliart is the warranty. It worry free motoring unlike any Evo import.
Have you rung up the insurance companies for prices yet?
What about asked the dealer how much 5 years worth of servcing costs on the ralliart?

I just don't think Internet opinions weigh into this discusion. We all
know the obvious pros and cons.
